Help Save Mahad’s Life: Justice, Medical Care, and Family Reunification My name is Deqa Haji, and I am reaching out on behalf of my son, Mahad Mohamed, who is just three and a half years old and has endured unimaginable suffering due to medical negligence and systemic failures. From the moment Mahad was born, he has faced life-threatening injuries caused by preventable medical errors at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital and Nationwide Children Hospital. Despite his fragile condition, he has been repeatedly denied proper care, both in hospitals and under the oversight of agencies meant to protect him. Shockingly, my husband and I, his parents, have been falsely accused of abuse, criminalized, and silenced while Mahad’s condition worsened. Mahad is medically fragile and entirely dependent on specialized care, including life-saving surgeries, therapies, and monitoring. Multiple hospitals, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, have been involved in his care, yet his life has been repeatedly endangered due to negligence and restricted parental advocacy. We are fighting for: Medical malpractice review and accountability to ensure Mahad receives proper care. Legal support to overturn wrongful charges against his father and restore our parental rights.
